THIS IS A RARE SELDOM SEEN BOOK PIECE SEEN ON PAGE 14 OF SHERMAN JEWELLERY: THE MASTERPIECE COLLECTION .  ON THAT PAGE THERE IS A DISCUSSION OF SIGNED AND UNSIGNED PIECES OF SHERMAN IN GENERAL AND SPECIFICALLY CONFIRMING ATTRIBUTION TO AN UNSIGNED NECKLACE IDENTICAL TO THE ONE IN THIS LISTING.  IT IS AN ACCEPTED SHERMAN PIECE BY COLLECTORS AND EXPERTS ALIKE.

Maker & Metal Content Marks: Sherman Jewels/ heavy rhodium backing as expected

Dimensions / Size: approx. 14"L  with necklace laid flat - measured from where the 3 row rhinestone chain begins just below the single silver chain representing the extender and the clasp  x  2  5/16"W across feature frontispiece

Origin: Montreal Quebec

Condition Report: very good vintage, small hard to see spots on the back of a couple of rhinestones at the bottom of the frontispiece feature. Only seen magnified or very close up from the front. Rhodium backing fully intact and the rest of this rare piece appears without flaw. Priced accordingly. See pictures for reference.

About the Designer: Sherman, based in Montreal, Canada, crafted top-tier costume jewelry as "Jewels of Elegance" from 1947 until his retirement in the early 1980s.
